Canoeing & Kayaking Fall Outdoor Adventures at Smugglers' Notch

Outdoor canoe & kayak adventures - fun for all ages!

Paddle your own canoe.

Paddle with our naturalist to beautiful wetlands, explore the Lamoille River at sunset, watch beavers at work, learn about Native American Legends while enhancing your paddling skills. Even tour a local winery. Participants must provide own transportation to launch site. A canoe can hold two adults and up to two children, ages 12 or younger OR three persons ages 13 and older (one will be a non-paddler).

Canoe & Kayak Rental
Explore the scenic Lamoille River at your leisure. Professional guides will instruct you in paddling and water safety, then send you off on a paddling adventure.

Daily on the hour, from 8:00 am - 11:00 am or 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. One-person kayak rentals are $40. Canoe or tandem kayak rental are $60. Trips are 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 hours. Advance registration required, limited space available.

Water & Wine
Travel by canoe on the traditional waterways used by the early settlers. Understand how the pastoral landscape continues to shape local history. Finish the tour at the Boyden Valley Winery. Tours include a Wine Tasting with local cheeses and French Bread in the Boyden's restored carriage barn.

Friday & Saturday, 12:00 noon - 2:30 pm. $35 per paddler. You'll get to choose between a canoe or kayak when you arrive at Green River Canoe.
